Guess what? WE DON’T HAVE SCHOOL ON TUESDAY!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Chrissy at 4:29 pm on Friday, November 7, 2008

You want to know why we don’t have school?  Yeah I know that you do.  It’s because of Veteran’s Day.  Veteran’s Day is to remember all of the people who have served in the U.S. military that’s what makes it so important.  We have this day off to remember the people who served in our armed forces.  It is also to commemorate the end of World War 1, which ended on November 11th 1918.  Some traditional activities that people do on Veterans Day is going to visit veteran’s in their family and tell them how much it means to them for all that they did for us. Some people also visit many Veteran’s Memorials to help the remember what veteran’s day is all about.

Chrissy,
We go to school on Tuesday which is Remembrance Day in Australia. We celebrate for the same reasons you do in America. We stop for a minutes silence at 11am to think about the soldiers who fought for our freedoms through war.
